A year in the life

A pretty good title if I do say so myself, especially with the Gilmore Girls 4 part season relase yesterday!

I have just come the realisation that I haven’t written on this blog for nearly a year. In fact 360 days to be precise.

To fill everyone in, I’m currently sat in Cairns domestic terminal waiting on my flight back to Melbourne after one of the most amazing holidays I could have ever experienced.

But lets have a catch up on this year!

For famous people and celebrities, 2016 has not been a good year – I’m glad Sir David Attenborough has made it this far!

For me, it’s actually been an incredible year.

I was able to be at home twice this year. I travelled to Manchester for Christmas 2015 to surprise my family which was amazing. Seeing the look on their faces when I knocked on the door, or came downstairs or walked into their office at work was incredible. I had a real life cold Christmas with my nanas home cooked Christmas dinner and presents and everything!

Being back in Melbourne was short lived after that as I headed back to Manchester for a second holiday in July. This time i became a bit of a jet setter!

My friend Lauren was getting married and she considered me one of her three bridal party members. We had decided for her hen party that we would go to Barcelona. We were there for three days and I loved it!

After returning from Barcelona, we had the wedding which I helped with pre decorations and cakes etc. It was such a personal touch as family and friends helped to set up the hall for the reception and it gave you a warm fuzzy feeling knowing you were adding to their special day.

I then travelled to Paris with my mum, dad, brother and two sisters. We stayed in Disney Land which was an adult child’s dream come true. We loved every minute of it and spent far too much money on Disney memorabilia!

In just under 2 weeks I managed to be a passenger on 8 flights! I was knackered when I returned to melbourne!!

The week I returned I applied for a position as a Nurse Unit Manager and Senior Intake Coordinator at work. This was a maternity role which needed filling for a year. To my surprise and joy I got it!!!

At 25 years old I managed to become the youngest Nurse Unit Manager in my hospital – only for a year but still!!

I’ve now been doing the job for 3 months and love it. I no longer dread coming into work! I have my own office and desk and I love it. I’m finally comfortable and happy at work. Let’s just hope it lasts longer than a year! Fingers crossed!

Then on 8th November my two aunts and brother arrived for a 3 week holiday. And what we’ve done in those 3 weeks is ridiculously amazing. I think I’ll do a seperate post so I can show off all of the amazing places I’ve been!

And now it’s only 4 weeks until Christmas!!

A fast and happy year!
